We tend to overcomplicate things. Myself included.
Most things in life are simple. Fitness. Nutrition. Relationships. Business. Education.
Note I said simple. Not easy.
But we make them hard. We overthink it. We go about it backwards. We go around our elbow to get to our armpit. Or whatever the saying is.
In all seriousness though, most things are simple, but not easy.
Yes, they take work. But if you take it all one step at a time, it can all be relatively easy.
I have to remind myself of this on the daily. We are working on simplifying everything in our lives, from things in our personal lives to our business. I don’t want to have to do a million steps just to get where we want to be.
And yes, it’s a lot of upfront work. Sometimes it’s insanely overwhelming, especially when it’s something new and I’m not entirely sure how it operates. But, just like anything else I’ve had to do, I’ve had to study and learn it. It’s uncomfortable being a beginner again. But it’s where we all start… as beginners!
We’re also working on a new nutrition program to offer our members. And the program itself is insanely simple. But the back office part is difficult for me to wrap my head around. But… one step at a time. I’ll get there and soon, it will be like second nature.
But that’s the thing…. When we’re starting something new like a fitness or nutrition program, we are overwhelmed and tend to shut down instead of moving forward.
But it’s actually really simple… start with one thing at a time, then build.
Fitness – it can be as simple as going for a walk. Just start moving. Baby steps every day. Then contact a local gym and set up a free consultation (most of them offer it… we do too!). See if there’s something more you can do… something you like to do. Something you’ll stick with!
Nutrition – most people need to start with more water. And eating whole foods. Cut out the processed food. Cut out the soda.
Simple. Not easy.
What’s one thing you can start focusing on today to help move you towards your goals? I’d love to know!
Have a great week!
We’ll see you in the gym!
