Nick and I just got back from vacation, and we did exactly what vacations are for—we ate whatever we wanted.

Carbs upon carbs. Sugar. Salty foods. Desserts that definitely weren’t meant to be shared (and we didn’t, LOL).

And honestly? No regrets. Vacation is meant to be enjoyed, and we enjoyed it.

But after a full week of eating that way, my body is very clearly giving me some feedback. I feel swollen, bloated, and heavy—not because carbs are “bad” or because I did something wrong, but because my body isn’t used to that amount of processed food, sugar, and sodium anymore.

And that’s the key word: used to.

Normally, Nick and I are pretty consistent with how we eat. We focus on real, whole foods most of the time and enjoy the occasional cheat meal without stress or guilt. When that’s the norm, one indulgent meal doesn’t throw everything off. But when ultra-processed food becomes the habit—even for just a week—the difference is loud.

Not in shame. Not in punishment. Just in awareness.

Our bodies are incredibly smart. They adapt to what we regularly give them. When we fuel ourselves with foods that nourish us, support digestion, and reduce inflammation, we feel better—more energy, less bloat, clearer heads, better workouts, better sleep. When we move away from that for a stretch, our bodies let us know.

And that’s exactly why we’re launching our New Year, New You BodSquad Nutrition Challenge.

This challenge isn’t about “undoing” vacation. It’s not a detox, a cleanse, or a punishment for enjoying life. It’s simply an intentional return to habits that help us feel our best.

We’re focusing on building sustainable habits and eating real, whole foods—cutting back on the highly processed stuff that sneaks in more often than we realize. Not perfection. Not restriction. Just consistency and awareness.

If the holidays, travel, or life in general have left you feeling a little off, bloated, sluggish, or disconnected from your routine, you’re not behind—you’re right on time.

This is about learning what foods work well for your body, creating habits you can actually maintain, and remembering how good it feels to take care of yourself from the inside out.

As Christians, we believe our bodies are a gift. Caring for them isn’t about control or appearance—it’s about stewardship. It’s about honoring what we’ve been given so we can show up stronger for our families, our work, and our community.

So if you’re ready to reset—not with guilt, but with intention—we’d love to do it alongside you. Let’s start this year by choosing foods that fuel us, habits that last, and a mindset rooted in grace.

Let’s do this together.

Have an amazing week. We’ll see you in the gym 💪🙏
