Our church service was heavy this week. A lot of what they were speaking about hit home in my heart. From losing a parent to a new baby to illness diagnoses and treatment to marriage issues. I don’t think I’ve ever left church feeling quite so somber.
But I also know I left church feeling hopeful and happy to have faith in my life. To know Jesus and despite the hardships I face, to have Him in my corner.
Life isn’t perfect. It never will be. There will be highs and there will be lows. And in both instances, lean on your faith. Pray. Find others to pray for you. To pray with you.
Yes, in the hard times, it will feel like you’re doing everything you can to just survive. And honestly, that’s all you are doing. Surviving. Trying to make it through each day. Each hour. Each minute.
Goodness knows I’ve been there a few times in my life. Where I had no idea what the next day held or how I was going to get through it. And yet, I did. One foot in front of the other, one step at a time. And goodness knows I wouldn’t have made it through without prayer, without support, without faith, without God.
We think we know what’s going on in other people’s lives. We watch their social media posts and stories and think about how happy they are, how lucky they are, how blessed they are. And yes, this may be true. But we don’t see the behind the scenes. We don’t know what’s really happening.
We all have our struggles. We all have our concerns. We all have our issues. We are all human.
We are all human.
It sounds so cliche and so simple to say, but be kind to each other. We all have our own struggles and burdens that we hide well from the outside world. And you never know how close someone is to breaking. But you also never know how much someone needs to hear they’re loved, they’re thought of, they’re being prayed for. You never know how much a big hug is needed.
Life y’all. It just keeps on life-ing. And one day you’re up and the next you’re down. And you just keep on trucking. One step, one moment, one day at a time.
And if you ever need someone to pray for you, to pray with you, please reach out. I know how powerful it can be.
I love y’all. Have a beautiful week.
