Celebrate all the wins. Big, small, and everything in between.
When you are working towards a goal, it can seem daunting when you look at the big picture. It can feel like you’re never going to get there.
But when you break down the big picture into smaller goals along the way, it makes it easier to keep moving forward. And even more so, when you celebrate achieving those smaller goals, no matter how big or small, it can help keep you motivated.
Let me give you a few examples. I’ve been working with a few nutrition clients for the past 3 weeks and each of them have had several small wins along the way.
One can fit into a pair of pants she hasn’t been able to in awhile. One has more energy in her workouts and every day life. And one is learning that eating more is absolutely okay. All three of them are losing inches and re-shaping their view on food and eating.
It can be hard to make huge nutrition and lifestyle changes. So make sure to celebrate those small wins along the way. Eating more. Feeling better throughout the day. Having more energy to get things done in your life. Fitting into clothes you previously couldn’t. Maybe the scale hasn’t budged but you’ve lost inches or the pictures show something different.
These are all wins. And while they may be small in the grand scheme of things, I’d beg to differ. I think they’re huge steps and motivators to keep moving forward to reach those bigger goals my clients have.
The same can be said for anything. Lifting in the gym. Doing any gymnastics movements. Running. Starting a business. Working in and on your business. Making changes in your life, such as cutting back on caffeine, changing your eating habits, working on your sleeping habits, like going to bed or getting up earlier. Changing your spending habits, paying off your smallest debt, saving more. Literally any and everything.
So make sure to celebrate all the wins along the way. All of them, no matter how big or small.
What’s one win you’ve had this week? I’d love to hear them!
Have a beautiful week! And celebrate all your wins!
