Whew! The last three weeks have been a whirlwind! We hosted our second annual Fall Spooky Classic competition/fundraiser to help Love Remained Ministries and their Hope Project.
This competition puts two of our favorite things together – CrossFit and faith, and on top of that, the ability to help and support some of our dearest friends and their ministry and dreams.
We had four teams, crazy theme nights, and Rx and scaled male and female competitors. We also had more people sign up this year, which makes us excited to see what’s in store for next year!
Our workouts also highlighted, for some people, where there may be holes in their training. From longer, chipper-style workouts to a short and sweet grinder to lifting heavy, we tried to throw in all different types of workouts. And the beauty of it is… all of them were easily modifiable for those new to the gym, new to CrossFit, new to a competition like this.
It brought out everyone’s creativity and fun side, it pushed people to load more weight on the bar, and it even brought out some people’s competitiveness (that I think surprised them!).
It was such a fun three weeks, a fun three Fridays, and I’m thankful we were, once again, able to be a part of it.
In the midst of hosting this event, there were some pain points where the devil tried doing his work! Unfortunately, the coffee truck had not only one accident, but two in our last week! Thankfully, nobody was hurt, but the truck has been out of commission for a couple weeks.
Prayers and support for Love Remained and Liz and Paul are much appreciated. They are doing amazing things in our community and for God, and when you step out in that much faith, the devil does his best to take you down.
Remember that as you find your way and walk with God, or as you step out in your faith. Nick and I are working to firm up our hearts as we are taking on a potential new leadership role supporting Love Remained and their new project, coming soon.
And as we finish up our competition, now is the time to reassess your goals for the Open coming in the spring and for next year’s Fall Spooky Classic. We’d love to see more people signed up, more people competing, more people having fun!
We hope you have a beautiful week, and Happy November! Can you even believe we’re past Halloween, into the month of Thanksgiving and holy cow, with Christmas following close on its heels!
Be safe this week! And we’ll see you in the gym.
With love,
Whitney
