Sometimes you just need to fill your cup.
On Sunday this week, we had a ton to do to prepare for the upcoming week. Laundry. Food prep. Weekly posts. Vacuuming. Mentally preparing for Monday. You know, the important things.
But I woke up Sunday morning in a funk. I was tired and didn’t really want to do anything. We somehow managed to get out of the house relatively on time for church. I’m so thankful we did, because I 100% needed it. I needed the message.
It was nice too because our friends were there. And despite knowing we had a ton to do at home, we decided to slow down a bit and enjoy brunch with these friends.
I definitely needed it. I needed my cup filled.
Away from the grind. Away from work. Away from chores and the “need to’s,” the “have to’s.”
It was nice to catch up with friends that we usually only see in passing. It was nice to slow down and just enjoy the moment. It was nice to have my cup filled and turn my funk around. I left church and brunch feeling much better, lighter, and energized.
So, how do you fill your cup? What helps you feel rejuvenated and energized? And I suppose the more important question is…why aren’t you doing more of it?
I ask myself that often. Why don’t we do more of this?
Of course, the answer is fairly obvious. We have busy schedules and it isn’t always possible. But I definitely feel like I need to take more time to do the things that fill my cup.
My hope for you is that you find what fills your cup and you do more of that! Because, I promise, refilling your cup makes everything else easier to manage.
Have a beautiful week, y’all!
