There’s something I’ve been working on lately that has nothing to do with macros, workouts, supplements, or the number on the scale.
My mindset.
I’ve posted a lot about it recently because it’s something that’s so vitally important. And we don’t give it enough credit. Ever. I know I didn’t.
For most of my life, negative thoughts have come naturally to me. Doubting myself. Questioning if I’m good enough. Assuming I’ll fail before I even try. Talking to myself in ways I would never speak to another person.
And the crazy thing is… mindset affects everything.
The way you walk into a workout. The way you handle hard seasons. The way you parent. The way you love people. The way you see yourself.
For a long time, I didn’t realize how much my thoughts were shaping my reality.
I would focus on everything I wasn’t.
Not strong enough.
Not smart enough.
Not capable enough.
Not “there” yet.
But growth can’t happen when your mind is constantly fighting against you.
Lately, I’ve been intentionally changing the way I think. Not with fake positivity or pretending life is perfect—but by learning to challenge the lies I’ve believed about myself for years.
Instead of:
“I can’t do this.”
I’m learning to say:
“This is hard, but I’m capable.”
Instead of:
“I’ll never be enough.”
I remind myself:
“I already am.”
Mindset matters because your thoughts become your actions. And your actions become your habits. And your habits shape your life.
In fitness, we see this all the time.
The people who grow the most aren’t always the most talented. They’re the ones willing to keep showing up even when progress feels slow. They stop saying “I can’t” before they’ve even tried.
The same applies outside the gym too.
Your mind can become your biggest limitation or your greatest strength.
And for me, faith has played a huge role in this journey. I’ve had to learn that my worth isn’t based on perfection, performance, or productivity. It’s rooted in something deeper. God didn’t create us to live defeated by our own thoughts.
We all have negative thoughts sometimes. We all have moments of doubt. But we don’t have to stay there.
You can retrain your body. You can retrain your habits. And you can retrain your mind too.
So if you’ve been doubting yourself lately, this is your reminder:
You are capable.
You are growing.
You are stronger than you think.
And your mindset matters more than you realize.
What would change in your life if you started believing you were capable?
Have an amazing week. We’ll see you in the gym 💪🙏
