In the fitness world, we talk a lot about growth—pushing limits, sharpening discipline, and showing up even when it’s hard. And lately, as my husband and I have been searching for someone to guide us and help us see our blind spots, I’ve been reminded of something important:
Even coaches need coaches.
It sounds obvious, but it hits differently when you’re the one leading others. We spend so much time pouring into people—encouraging them, challenging them, celebrating their wins—that it’s easy to forget we also need someone pouring into us.
Because the truth is, no matter how much experience we have…
No matter how strong our discipline is…
No matter how much we care…
We all have blind spots. We all hit walls. We all need guidance, accountability, and someone who sees the bigger picture.
Think about fitness for a moment:
Even the most elite athletes have trainers.
Olympians have coaches.
Top performers still seek feedback.
Not because they’re weak—but because they’re committed to going farther than they could on their own.
And honestly? Business is the same way. Life is the same way. Faith is the same way.
We weren’t created to grow in isolation. Scripture reminds us again and again that iron sharpens iron—that we are strengthened through community, mentorship, and wise counsel. When someone steps in and says, “I see more in you,” it has a way of unlocking something inside us we didn’t even realize was waiting.
So as we’ve begun looking for someone to guide us, I’ve felt this mix of excitement, nervousness, and… relief.
Relief that we don’t have to have it all figured out.
Relief that growth doesn’t require perfection—just willingness.
Relief that asking for help isn’t a sign of weakness but a sign of purpose.
And maybe you’re in that same season too.
Maybe you’re leading, parenting, coaching, serving, building—and you’re realizing you need someone to walk alongside you. Someone to challenge you, stretch you, or simply remind you that you were made for more.
Here’s the beauty: You don’t have to do this alone. None of us do.
Whether it’s a fitness coach, a mentor, a pastor, a counselor, or just a friend who tells you the truth with love—growth happens when we allow others to speak into our lives.
Even coaches need guidance.
Even leaders need leaders.
Even strong people need support.
And that’s not a flaw. It’s wisdom.
It’s stewardship.
It’s strength.
It’s how we keep becoming who God created us to be.
We’ll see you in the gym!
Have a great week!
